Description

Rafters and guides catch the historic Flag Stop Hurricane Train (The last flag stop train in America).  A short rail ride carries you to Chase, approximately 11 miles north of Talkeetna.

It’s just a few paces down to the riverbank, where your guide will begin readying your transportation for a float trip on the main vein of the Alaska Range, the mighty Susitna River. Just sit back and relax as the silt-filled currents take you down one of the largest rivers in the US.

Along the float trip, you’ll stop on one of the many islands to stretch your legs and look for animal tracks.

On the second half of this trip, you will be treated to world-class views of the Alaska Range and Talkeetna Mountains on a clear day.

Rafters will be back between 4:30 and 5:30 pm, just in time for that last-minute shopping or dinner at one of our great local restaurants.
